Access to information legislation transports us to a world that is in a constant state of grey, where the only black and white that exists are the FIPPA Coordinator’s black markers and correction tape.
Add some colour to your FIPPA world by broadening your redacting skills as we review available resources and tools, and then apply our new skills in some hands-on examples.
So, whether responding to access to information requests is your full-time job, or is simply listed under “Other Duties as Assigned” in your job description, join us as we bring some joy to the art of redacting.
About Your Presenter:
Robyn Wellman is the Access and Privacy Coordinator in the Access and Privacy Office at the University of Manitoba. Robyn has been with the Access and Privacy Office for over 6 years. During that time, Robyn has grown her responsibilities within the office to become the primary person to respond to all formal access to information requests received by the University of Manitoba, as well as any related complaints through the Office of the Manitoba Ombudsman.
Her most recent performance review states that her work is of high quality that rarely requires any review or correction. A goal for the current year is to eliminate the overuse of prepositions, go on more frequent ice-cream trips, and to actually take coffee breaks from time-to-time.
